Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 CPU

The new 45nm ‘Wolfdale’ CPUs have hit the desktop market and are the latest and greatest from Intel for the mainstream desktop market. But the Wolfdales are still relatively pricey, as one is expected to pay a premium for the latest technology and performance. However, Intel now has the 45nm line in full force with the release of the ‘budget’ 45nm CPU, the C2D E7200

Intel's latest Extreme Hardware!

The whole process took me a couple of hours, and I’ll most likely be tweaking a bit more over the next week or so. Here are a few photos to show the build-up over the weekend.
This is all of the stuff that I was preparing to upgrade with, lots of stuff comes with the Smackover board - cables, IOH fan, drivers, games, etc. I already had the case, PSU, SSD, Video Card, spindle hard drive, DVD/RW from my previous PC.

Intel helps to bring the Internet to your TV

Widgets are migrating from the web/PC desktop, to the mobile phone, and now to the TV set. Dubbed the “Connected TV” experience, Intel showcased several upcoming devices utilizing the new Intel Media Processor CE 3100 and enabling the new “Widget Channel” application framework.
Announced back in 2008 and developed by Intel and Yahoo, the “Widget Channel” delivers Internet content directly to your television set via devices such as Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, and of course the TV set. TV Widgets from all sorts of content service providers have been developed since the launch of the Widget Channel including widgets from AP, CBS, CinemaNow, eBay, MySpace, and Yahoo! Here are several pictures of widget enabled devices from the Intel CES 2009 booth. We’ll show some of the vendor specific devices later on (including HDTV sets from Samsung, Toshiba and others).

The Outside Reflects Gaming Power on the Inside

To start things off, the iBuypower Gamer 926-GT Intel Gaming Computer doesn’t look like your boring, old PC. This is one mean-looking gaming machine. It is equipped with an NZXT LEXA Blackline Chassis which sports a menacing black and red color theme.

To give this PC a more unique look, the front and back panels slightly protrude above the chassis’ top portion. In addition, a contoured surface gives these panels a distinctly edgy feel. You’ll also find pre-installed neon lights inside the casing. These make the sides glow a fierce red, as if hinting at the power this PC can potentially produce.

Intel and UltraSuede Offer Touchable Laptop PC

Intel and Toray Ultrasuede are all set to deliver trendy laptop PCs for the fashion-conscious. Each laptop, powered by Intel Centrino mobile technology, reeks of style and features Ultrasuede delivering "a unique, personal touch to mobile computing."

Ultrasuede is a micro-fiber fabric that is directly integrated into the casing of the laptop, designed to change the look and feel completely. Yeah, after being used to the drab black/gray laptops, I couldn't believe the image on the right was a laptop until I took a closer look.

It's about time, as well. Style is no longer confined to the Mac afficianados. The laptops also offer wireless computing capabilities. Let's hope the price factor does not play a major role here

Intel Dual-Core

Intel will introduce its brand new Core 2 Duo line of dual-core, 64-bit processor chips Thursday. The first of these next-generation processors to hit the marketplace has been code-named "Conroe."
The Conroe family of chips is made up of five slightly different desktop processors. Intel's laptop-specific Merom processors, the first 64-bit mobile processors from the company, will follow a few weeks later. The Merom processors will replace Intel's current Core Duo mobile processors.

Intel D5400XS Motherboard

One glance at the Intel D5400XS motherboard with its dual-CPU sockets and active chipset cooling is enough to tell you that this isn't your normal PC motherboard. Code named Skulltrail, the Intel D5400XS represents Intel's ultimate PC motherboard platform. Regular motherboards only have a single CPU socket, two PCI Express slots, and support for only one of the two competing dual-GPU formats. In comparison, the Skulltrail has two processor sockets, four x16 PCI Express video card slots, and built-in support for both SLI and CrossFire. If you set two Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9775 processors in the board, you have an 8-core monster ready to run.
The Skulltrail code name follows the pirate-naming theme started with the "Bonetrail" code name for Intel's X38 motherboard. Intel was able to supercharge the board by making a couple of aggressive design decisions. Engineers built the board around the Intel 5400 workstation chipset instead of using its standard X38 or P35 desktop chipset. The chipset choice gives Skulltrail advanced features not available on normal desktop motherboards, such as dual-CPU support, but it also brings new requirements, including a new CPU socket, LGA771, and DDR2 FBDIMM memory. We aren't thrilled with the FBDIMM requirement, but the modules aren't too difficult to find and don't cost much more than unbuffered DIMMS.

Computer Severity levels

Issues are often categorized in terms of severity levels. Different companies have different definitions of severities, but some of the most common ones are:

  • High - The bug or issue affects a crucial part of a system, and must be fixed in order for it to resume normal operation.
  • Medium - The bug or issue affects a minor part of a system, but has some impact on its operation. This severity level is assigned when a non-central requirement of a system is affected.
  • Low - The bug or issue affects a minor part of a system, and has very little impact on its operation. This severity level is assigned when a non-central requirement of a system (and with lower importance) is affected.
  • Cosmetic - The system works correctly, but the appearance does not match the expected one. For example: wrong colours, too much or too little spacing between contents, incorrect font sizes, typos, etc. This is the lowest priority issue.

Method of Fix A Computer Infected With Viruses & Spyware

Unlike the mainframe era, today’s computers are designed to be small, reliable, extremely useful, and above all, very fast. But as the computer is being used to accomplish daily routines, especially if the computer is connected to the Internet (“The Super Highway” as it’s sometimes referred to), overtime it begins to run sluggishly and often displaying those annoying error messages and pop-ups.

Knowing when your computer is infected with viruses and spyware is extremely important because it enables you to choose the best course of action at the most appropriate time, whether you choose to fix it yourself as most advanced computer users do or you go the other route, by seeking computer help from qualified online technical support companies.

Intel Science Talent Search crowns 10 promising students

By Jeanette Der Bedrosian, USA TODAY
Ten teenage super-scientists joined the ranks of former Nobel Prize winners and genius grant winners Tuesday night when they were awarded top honors at the Intel Science Talent Search.
The competition, the oldest and one of the best-known science competitions in the USA, for years has given scholarships to future experts who have gone on to win Nobels or MacArthur Foundation genius grants. This year's winners were seniors in high school who, in many cases, have made scientific breakthroughs and published research papers.

Powered by Intel chips, your new Mac will do all those things that only Macs can do — and do so at an astonishing level of performance.

The new Mac core
Every Mac uses a chip based on Intel Core technology, the next generation in processor design from the world’s leading chip maker. The result of massive R&D effort involving thousands of engineers. An entire collection of revolutions shrunk into an unimaginably small space, consuming less energy, too. Two cores work together to share resources, and are designed to conserve power when their functions aren’t required. Whether in an ultra-sleek MacBook, or workstation class Mac Pro, Intel Core technology lets you get more power with less power.
